Our Cattery
Our goal is to breed British Shorthair cats that follow the breed standard, have good temperaments, and are healthy. Ethical breeding is very important to us.
Our cattery name is registered with FiFe and the Finnish Cat Association. We completed the breeder course and received our breeder name in 2023. The relaxed look and calm temperament of the British Shorthair instantly appealed to us.
From the wide range of colors, we chose to breed golden tipped and silver tipped British Shorthairs. These cats have beautiful green eyes. We’re also interested in golden and silver point colors, where the cat has a mask (point) and blue eyes. Although point-colored cats may appear light, they are not completely white—the tips of the fur are colored and the base is either golden or silver. Based on the tipping, the cat is classified as either shaded or shell. The paw pads of tipped cats are either black or bluish-reddish, depending on whether the tipping color is black or blue. Blue golden tipped is our personal favorite, although all British Shorthairs are stunning!

The picture shows a description of tipping. In our cattery, we mainly breed blue golden or black golden shaded and tipped cats. The EMS code for blue golden is ay, and for black golden it is ny. The number following the code indicates the amount of tipping. I’ve tried to include the EMS code under the pictures to make it easier for visitors to identify the cat’s color.
Health is Our Top Priority
In Finland, there are no mandatory health tests for British Shorthairs, but we test all our breeding cats for blood type, FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), FeLV (feline leukemia virus), and PKD (polycystic kidney disease). Once the cats are old enough, we also do heart ultrasounds to check for HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy). Any stud cats we borrow are also health tested.
